Welcome to the Department of Animal and Food Sciences

The Oklahoma State University Department of Animal and Food Sciences offers two majors and 12 study options. Students have access to food processing facilities and our farms, which house beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, swine, goats, sheep, and poultry. Our faculty members conduct cutting-edge research in ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, meat and food science, genetics, physiology, animal health, and sustainability.

COVID-19 Update

As the Cowboy Family continues to innovate in how we learn and work together while adhering to the guidance of health officials during the ongoing pandemic, the following updates are provided to keep you informed.

All summer camps originally scheduled to be held on the Stillwater campus are cancelled. All OSU events scheduled through July 1 will be held virtually, rescheduled, or cancelled. This includes, but is not limited to youth Extension events, recruitment events, tours, student programs, reunions, performances, conferences, and social events.
