Azaouak cattle.Place of Origin: East Mali, West Central Niger, and North West Nigeria


Uses: Pack and Dairy


Relationship to other breeds: West African (shorthorned) Zebu, Similar to Shuwa


Characteristics: Short horns, drooping ears, and a loose hide. They vary in color, but the main color is a mix primarily red with some white.


Azaouak cow.Breed Societies: Hausa Shanun Adar, Fulani Azawa, Azawal


Synonyms: Arab, Damerghou or Tagama (Niger), Tuareg


Proscribed Names: Not Azawak, Azawa, Azawaje, Azawal
