Also Known As: Gemsfarbige Gebirgsziege, Chamoise des Alpes, Chamoix Alpine, Camosciata alpina

This dairy and meat breed found in Switzerland belongs to the Swiss Mountain group. They are brown in color with black face-stripes, back stripe, belly and legs. They can be either horned or polled.

The following breeds originated from the Chamois Colored; Belgian Fawn, German Improved Fawn, the Camosciata delle Alpi in Italy and the Oberhasli in the United States.
